Know the Signs of Scams

A message from PPL: Scammers sometimes try to cheat our customers.  We want you to know their most common tricks, so no one gets cheated. No quick cutoffs.  Scammers will tell you your electricity will be cut off within the hour if you don’t pay.  PPL doesn’t work that way.  if you’re really at risk of losing service, we’ll give you plenty of advance notice, and will work with you to offer help. No payment cards.  Scammers will pressure you to get a prepaid card to make a payment.  We don’t force or require customers to get prepaid cards.  This is a sure sign of a scam. Give us a call.  If you want to check on your account, or see if PPL has people working in your neighborhood, call us at 1-800-DIAL-PPL. Let’s stop scams together.
